The flooded river was subsiding rapidly today, but Li River cruise still close due to the flood probably come again tonight. i taked the following picture at afternoon.
Hi JJYY, I am Pui Fern from Malaysia. I will be travelling to Guilin for vacation from 16-20th July 2009. I have read news about the flood situation in Guangxi which seemed really serious. When I asked the tour guides, they were telling me that the situation in Guilin is fine and is not affected. Now your pictures are showing the opposite. I am hoping you can provide me the truth about the situation in Guilin now? I also heard Longji rice terrace are affected by the heavy rain and some of the roads are closed. I think Guilin will be clear of flooding later this month and if there were any mudslides blocking roads or other effects in Longji they will have been cleared too. We usually only have serious flooding once a year here. June is the wettest month, so there should be less rain from now on. The floods only took a day to go down in Guilin, but then there was flooding in downriver Yangshuo. This too usually only takes a day of little rain to clear.
