Embroidery

The embroidery needle is used to make lines, which together make up a variety of decorative patterns that have been designed beforehand. The needle, carrying colored thread, composes a pattern as it pricks through the embroidery cloth. Changes in the stitch used form different styles and craft genres.

Chinese needle craft had already reached a high level in the Qin/Han period. Embroidery and silk were the staple commodities transported on the Silk Road. Hunan embroidery along with Jiangsu and Suzhou embroidery is regarded as the most outstanding embroidery in China. Hunan embroidery and Jiangsu and Suzhou embroidery, along with the embroidery of Guangdong Province and Sichuan embroidery, make up the four famous genres of embroidery.

Recently, I have become interested in cross-stitch that comes from Europe. I cannot wait to share the embroidery I have made.
