Firstly, they will inform their friends and relatives the date and place of the wedding ceremony. Usually countryside people hold their wedding ceremony at their home, while city people choose to hold the wedding ceremony at the hotel because of the convenience.
On the morning of the wedding day, the groom and his friends will drive the wedding car to the bride's home with a bunch of flower. When the groom arrives at the bride's home, he has to go through many interesting barriers made by the bride's friends, such as the opening door riddle, tongue twister and finding the groom's shoes etc. After that, the groom will presented the bride with a bouquet of flower and ask the bride to marry him. At last, the bride and groom and the bride's family will take a picture, and then the groom will carry the bride from the bride's home to the wedding car. On the wedding car, there are not only the brides and groom, but also the bride's dowry, which is prepared by the bride's parents. The dowry (also known as trousseau) is usually the money, goods, or estate that the bride brings to her new husband.
When the wedding car arrives at the groom's home, there will be a wedding banquet waiting for the new couple. Before the banquet, the bride and groom would exchange vows, pay respect to the heaven and earth, to the groom's parents, and paying respect to each other. After all these ceremonies, the couple will drink a toast to all the people who attending their wedding ceremony.
After the wedding ceremony, young couple has started their marriage life. Now more and more young people choose to hold their wedding ceremony in traditional format. And it is said that Spring Festival is the best time for getting married because Spring Festival means spring is coming and young couple's marriage life is just as joyous as Spring.
