Water Crisis in China

I watched a TV program on Tuesday. It is about the water crisis in China, especially in north China. At the beginning of the program, in a tiny village of Gansu province, a boy led a mule to transport water from a faraway reservoir to his home. It will take him one full day for just a return trip to the reservoir. The mule can only carry two buckets of water at once. He has to quit his school to transport the water. He explained that because his sister is going to be married in next few days. To entertain the guests, he was assigned to transport clean water for the banquet. According to local custom; clean drinking water is the best thing they used to entertain their distinguished guests.
At another scene, Dirty water is the leading cause of death in a village in Chongqing. In the village, about 40 people pass away due to waterborne diseases. Many people have to leave their home due to inadequate of drinking water.

We should save every drop of water. I remember Dr. Yu Shiwei( a famous Taiwan entrepreneur) once said in one of his speeches. He said during a trip to UK, he forgot to turn the tap off after washing his hand. An old British lady told him "Dr Yu, Water seems worthless, but it is a precious resource of Britain. Please save it." Please remind yourself the old lady’s words when you have a shower tonight.
